Leader Qualifications
Our leaders are the backbone of our programs. To ensure that we have the right leaders for the job, each must meet the following requirements:
- Must be 21 or older
- May be teachers or retired teachers, counselors, school/pediatric nurses, and administrators
- If not a teacher, must have three or more years' experience with youth
- If a teacher, must be state-certified and have at least two years' classroom experience as teacher in charge
- Must be able to commit to eight to 10 months of pre-travel interaction with delegates, including attending information meetings, conducting delegate interviews, and 12 hours of orientation meetings
- Must be able to participate fully in all travel experiences including but not limited to walking more than six miles a day, hiking uneven terrain under various weather conditions, handling luggage, and providing up to three weeks of delegate supervision
- Must have access to a computer with Adobe Reader installed and internet to be able to complete required online training and manage delegation with online resources. Modern browsers such as FireFox, Chrome, or Safari are necessary to function successfully.

- May be teachers, school administrators, and counselors
- May be junior or senior college students majoring in education or a field relating to one of our Career Leadership Summits
- May be members of a profession that relates to one of our Career Leadership Summits
- Must be able to participate fully in all travel experiences including but not limited to walking more than six miles a day, handling luggage, and providing up to two weeks of delegate supervision
- Must have access to a computer with Adobe Reader installed and internet to be able to complete required online training and manage delegation with online resources. Modern browsers such as FireFox, Chrome, or Safari are necessary to function successfully.

- Must be 21 or older
- Must accompany students to and from the country from which chaperones are traveling
- Must serve as the point of contact for the students they are accompanying to the programs
- Must cover the entire cost of their plane tickets*
- Must be able to participate fully in all travel experiences including but not limited to walking more than six miles a day, attending all scheduled activities with the group to which they are assigned, handling luggage, and providing up to two weeks of delegate supervision
*If an international chaperone brings more than 20 students on the program, his/her program cost and air fare will be covered
